Winston Clyde "Tony" Tisdale passed away at his home near Titlow Beach on Monday evening February 24th 2025 after a 7 year battle with colon cancer. He went home to be with the Lord after he knew he had said goodbye to family and friends the way he wanted to and he was alone at peace. Tony, age 61, was born on September 1, 1963 and grew up in Kingstree, South Carolina. He loved boating, hunting and fishing. He lived a life full of blessings and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years. During his years of service in the military, Tony experienced the world in ways most people only dream of. At seventeen years old, he had his parents sign his enlistment papers and headed to basic training where his first duty station was based in Turkey immediately afterwards. He had many duty stations during his time in the service ranging from South Carolina to Guam. While stationed at Shaw AFB in South Carolina, Tony spoke highly of being on the Honor Guard where he conducted funeral detail and 21 gun salutes for veterans funerals all around that region of the United States. He spent time in Japan, Germany, Italy and Australia as well as being a part if Operation Desert Storm. He spent the last 28 years living in University Place after retiring out of his final duty station, Mccord AFB. Tony loved launching his boat out of Day Island and hitting Puget Sound or American Lake every chance he could get. He also enjoyed going to Belfair, Capital Forrest and Carbonado to enjoy riding ORV trails on his three wheelers. Loving bacon wrapped scallops and as many oysters that one could shuck you could also catch him standing in the Hood Canal at low-tide with a bottle of Crystals hot sauce collecting oysters or camping off 101. He was a generous man quick to give a hot meal or lend a helping hand to literally anyone that was there and needed it. Tony believed the most beautiful thing in the world was a BBQ smoker closed, full of meat and expelling as much smoke as the hickory or apple wood that the chamber held could produce. He was the most complex simple man that anyone could imagine and that's what made him such a beautiful soul. Being the Father of two children (Michael and Ashley Tisdale) and the Grandfather of 7 ( Mallorie, Katie, Mattie-Grace, Joleigh, Aidan, Hance and Janie) he was blessed with a very expansive family including a wife of 42 years (Donna Tisdale). He also leaves behind a Mother (Joyce Rivers) and Sister (Lisa Phillips) in South Carolina. Tony would say he was a cross between Red Forman father from "That 70s Show" and Hank Hill from "King of the Hill". One thing for sure though is that he was saved and knew Jesus and he is finally at home. He will be laid to rest at the National Veterans Cemetery located in Kent, Washington. Gone but not forgotten.
