Tegan DeeAnn Giesel, 35, died Aug 24, 2020 in Lacey, Washington.
Tegan was born March 13, 1985, the first child of Dennis and Marti Giesel.
She grew up in rural Illinois, part of a large, closely knit family. She was dearly loved by her grandparents, father and mother, many aunts and uncles, siblings and cousins. She was a delight to her parents. Tegan was a lover of books, music, art and nature. She had a tender, compassionate heart, especially for the elderly and for children; she was generous and thoughtful to her family and friends.
Tegan was a graduate of Gutenberg College, Eugene, OR, and after attending the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, she worked as a massage therapist in Illinois until 2019. She had struggled with considerable mental health challenges for many years. A bruised reed our God will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out; in faithfulness He will bring forth justice. Isaiah 42:3.
She is survived by her mother, Marti, and her siblings, Hannah (Gerrit) Bootsma, Emily, Evan, Nathan, Daniel (Hayley), Sam and Kaitlin Giesel. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis, in 2016.
There will be a private family ceremony, where Tegan's remains will be buried near her father's grave in Hudson, IL.
