Robert Hoyden Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Hoyden was called home to the Lord on July 1, 2020.  Born to Mr. Eldred Hoyden and Ms. Anna Mae Hogan in Everett, Washington, on July 4, 1953.  Bobby was the comical and eccentric muse for everyone who had the fortune to know him.  Always quick with a zany antic or joke to lighten the mood, there were few people who could maintain any sense of stoicism when faced with a direct barrage of his personality.  The often imitated but never replicated subject matter expert of "Dad Jokes", he could effortlessly tease a smile out of the most stubborn curmudgeons.

In 1973, Bobby went to "Aaaaarrmy Training Sir!" and spent the ensuing 3 years as a Military Policeman serving in Hawaii and Texas.  After leaving the Army, he returned
home to Everett and over the next several years took up the noble profession of Process Server serving much of the Puget Sound Region.  Despite the challenge of the profession, he relished it and it sparked one of his greatest passions in life; writing short stories, mostly crime and legal thrillers.  He was also a history "buff" especially as it related to the history of the Seattle underground.

Bobby further enjoyed hiking, camping, and just about anything that justified getting into the woods and would often spend his free time wandering on the trails of various state forests.  His black labs, "Edgar", "Yogi", and "Hogan" were never far from his side, and frequently dragged him through creeks, rocky ravines and other natural dangers as he grinned from ear to ear.  We like to imagine that he was just like Indiana Jones, most likely with the iconic theme blaring in his head the entire time.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers; Mike and Greg.  He is survived by his son, Sean of Broad Run, Virginia, Brother Eddie and Sister-in-law
Cherri of Lynnwood, Sister Cathie Perrault and Brother-in-law Steve of Arlington, Sister Vicki Pilch and Brother-in-law Pete of Bellingham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial arrangements are pending but will be part of a private celebration of life for family and invited guests of family members.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a
donation in Bobby's name to the Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) by visiting their website HERE.
