Ricardo Velez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ricardo Velez, who left us on May 23rd 2025, at the age of 42.

Born in St. Croix, USVI on  September 9, Ricky was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. He had a deep love for life and was known for his big heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his children.

Ricky had a passion for cars and could often be found under the hood tinkering with a new project or putting his personal touch on the interior-mainly with his personal favorite color red. He also loved going four-wheeling—mud, hills, trails—he loved it all. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his children Toby and Emmy. Whether it was a simple day going to the beach or an off-road adventure, those moments meant everything to him.

He is survived by his children Tobias Danger Velez-Savage and Emmalynn Rose Houlroyd, siblings Jesus Fuentes, Jessenia Fuentes-Velez, Jose Acosta, and Jennifer Acosta. He is preceded in death by his mother Rosa Mercado Velez and father Theudys Martinez.

A service to celebrate Ricky’s life will be held on September 13th in Murfreesboro, TN. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Ricky by simply living life with the same passion he once had and remembering him for his light not his darkness.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
