Michael David Riggen aka Michael Weltzer, age 57 of Olympia Washington passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 13th, 2022 in Olympia Washington.
Michael preferred to be called “Mickey” as a teenager, and kept the nickname throughout his life.
Preceded in death by his parents Ronald R. Riggen and Diane M. Riggen.
Survived by his children, Brandon Haynes and Katherine Davis, along with siblings Sandra Rossi and Jeremiah Riggen.
Mickey grew up in Olympia, Washington. As a child he loved being outdoors. He also enjoyed riding his bike or skateboard. He enjoyed swimming in lakes and boating on the ocean.
Mickey moved to Colorado and then California as a young adult and playing the drums in various rock and roll bands was what he enjoyed the most. Mickey loved listening to, and creating music. He also had a love of classic cars and racing.
As an adult he found his career path working in the hospitality industry.
In the 1990’s, Mickey moved back to Washington State, where he changed his career to a private contractor that specialized in landscaping. Mickey always enjoyed being in the outdoors, and he kept that up for the remainder of his life-- outside with the fresh air and nature.
