It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Michael Mayhead on December 19th, 2024, at the age of 40. Michael was born on August 7th, 1984 in Hermiston Oregon to Scott Mayhead and Penny Simmonds.
Although Michael was born in Hermiston, Oregon he spent his first few years of life living in Clackamas and the Portland area before moving back to Eastern Oregon where he then spent most of his childhood. Michael attended A.C. Houghton elementary and Irrigon Junior High. During his middle school years, he moved to Hermiston and attended Armand Larive and spent his high school years at Hermiston High School. It was there that he joined the wrestling and lacrosse teams.
Michael enjoyed traveling and meeting new people this led to him living life in different areas of Oregon and Washington. Michael spent time living in Hermiston, Umatilla, Irrigon, and Portland Oregon along with sometime in Darrington and Oak Harbor Washington. Finally ending up in Seattle Washington. All these travels led to him meeting and acquiring countless friends along the way.
Michael favorite things in life were meeting new people and fishing. He was known as a man with a heart of gold and cared for others often trying to help people in anyway, he could. Many would say he was a little quirky but only ever had kind words to say about him.
Michael was predeceased in death by his grandfather Ray Kelsey, grandmother Patricia Ellen Tusten, uncle Daniel Kelsey, and aunt Cheryl Rackley
Michael is survived by his father Scott Mayhead, mother Penny Simmonds, grandmother Dorothy Kelsey. His sisters Dorothy Estrada and Michelle Lee. Several aunts and an uncle Patricia, Linda, Shelly, Marieta, and Patrick. Along with 5 nephews, 2 nieces, 3 great-nephews, and 2 great-nieces.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, thoughts, and support.
Burial and Celebration of Life will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Irrigon Oregon on Saturday February 1st at 1:00 P.M.
