Katie Darlin Lindbo

Katie Darlin Lindbo passed away December 26, 2025 after a long illness.  She was born February 16, 1951, 74 years old.  She was at peace knowing where she was going & that she would dance - pain free with her Frank  to their favorite music.  Katie had an adventurerous spirit.  She loved to feel the wind blowing in her hair when riding on a motorcycle during her youth or driving her motorized wheelchair at Agility.  Katie was artistic & decorated her children & grandchildren’s rooms!  She sewed & did crafts throughout her life.  She had a talent for repairing almost anything that needed fixing! She took care of many children, worked in the schools and was supervisor at a canery in Yakima!  One if her many gifts was her ability to make people feel seen, heard & valued.  She made many friends who loved her at Agility where she lived for a year and a half and spent a short time in Hospice there.  She was known for her cheerful nature when greeting the staff and the other patients.  She loved turning on the music at the entry of Agility and chair dancing.

Katie was one of seven children and grew up on a small farm in the Spanaway, Washington area. She graduated from Bethel High School.  She moved to Yakima, Washington where she raised her family and lived there for 45 + years. She moved to Tacoma, Washington in 2023.

She leaves her beloved Family:  children - Crystal Zumwalt, (Frank Zumwalt) JR Akers;

Grandchildren - Dominique Starr St George, Noah Zumwalt & Nathaniel Zumwalt and Great Grandson - Logan St George.  Her brothers & sisters: Andy Lindbo, Dave Lindbo, Linda Lindbo, Vi Erickson, Vicky Swick & Doreen Lindbo.  She had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles. She is preceded in death by her partner & love - Frank Akers; parents - Harry & Dorothy Lindbo and nephew, Nick Lien. Katie was Loved will be Missed!  Donations can be made to the Northwest Kidney Center or the American Heart Association.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Katie Darlin Lindbo will be Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church - 12115 Park Ave S, Parkland WA 98444, at 1:00 to 2:30 in Thompson Hall. (West side of the mountains).
