John Phillip Strojan

John Philip Strojan passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at his family home on Trout Lake, surrounded by those he loved. He was 54 years old.

John was born on January 23, 1972, in Dallas, Texas to Vince Strojan and Sandy (Olson) Strojan. He spent his early childhood in Texas before returning with his family in 1979 to the family farm in Fife, Washington, where he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors and a deep appreciation for hard work.

From an early age, John embraced every opportunity for adventure. Whether hunting ducks and pheasants on the family property, riding dirt bikes, fishing, camping, or playing sports, he was happiest outdoors. He excelled in athletics and graduated from Fife High School in 1990. Following graduation, he attended Central Washington University, where he played football.

On July 15, 2000, John married the love of his life, Cheryl Artunian. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and the outdoors. Their dream home on Trout Lake became the backdrop for countless memories. The births of their children, Kylee and Caden, completed their family and became John’s greatest source of pride.

A highly skilled mason by trade, John spent his career helping shape landmarks throughout the region. His craftsmanship can be seen in numerous projects, including Ilani Casino, The Mill, Auburn High School, and many other buildings throughout the Pacific Northwest. He took immense pride in his work and was respected for both his talent and dedication.

John was known for his generosity, loyalty, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was the first person friends and family would call when they needed a hand, and he never hesitated to show up. His courage and selflessness were evident when he was recognized for saving a drowning man. Whether attending annual Greenwater gatherings, sharing stories around a campfire, spending time on the lake, or heading into the woods, John created lasting memories and touched countless lives.

Above all else, John was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Cheryl Strojan; his daughter, Kylee Strojan (Will); his son, Caden Strojan (Paige); his parents, Vince Strojan and Sandy Strojan; his brothers, Dan Strojan (Kathryn), Mike Strojan, and Fred Strojan (Michelle); and his nieces and nephews, Gavin (Alexis), Emily, Carter, Mila, and Rylan. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

John’s strength, kindness, humor, and unwavering love for family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the example he set.
