James Patrick Conway, also known to many as Jim or Jimmy, age 74, of Sequim, WA, passed away on January 6, 2023 of complications from dementia.
Jim was born February 21, 1948, in Olympia, WA to Edward and Commie Conway. He grew up in South Bay on the family farm and graduated from North Thurston High School. He attended Washington State University and studied engineering. This is where he met his first wife, Carrie Ann Richardson. He worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Federal Government and in private industry.
He met his second wife, Patricia (Pat) Ramage while volunteering at the Little League field in Kent, WA, and they were married in 1991. They retired to Sequim in 2005.
Jim enjoyed collecting guns, vintage cars and fixing things with his grandkids, Gwenyth and Tristan. His favorite summer activities were mowing the lawn, followed by a beer and a good cigar.
Jim is survived by his sisters Cathy Baldwin, Sue Larsen and Kelly Johnson, and brother Dennis Conway. His step-children are Scott Ramage, Melinda Gracey (daughter in law), Michelle Kiehl, grandchildren Gwenyth, Tristan, Justin, Kyle and Ashley.
Jim is preceded in death by his son Sean Conway, wife Pat Conway, parents Ed and Commie Conway, brothers Mike and Tom Conway, and step-son Tony Ramage.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lacey Community Center on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
