Erica Marie Owens, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and loyal friend, gained her angel wings and was reunited with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2025. She was 45 years old.
Born on October 2, 1980, in Miami, Oklahoma, Erica spent her early childhood in California, where she lived with her mother, Cindy Clemmens, and her three younger siblings, Adi Michelle, Hope, and Shawn. As the eldest, Erica was the heart and backbone of her family, serving as a second mother to her siblings with a love that was fierce, protective, and unwavering.
She later found her “chosen family” in her foster parents, Norman and Tretha, and her sisters, Ami, Mandi, and Lauri, whose unconditional love, faith, and support became the foundation for the remarkable wife, mother, and friend she would become.
Erica is survived by her husband of more than 25 years, Cary Owens; her children, Kelseigh, Kalub, Dontae, and Kiaira; her grandchildren, Karsyn, Winter, and Silas; and her stepchildren, Jaiza, Jontah, Jre’Shaun, and Janeah. Together, Erica and Cary built a blended family rooted in love, laughter, and adventure. Erica was more than a companion, she was a true partner who encouraged Cary to step beyond his comfort zone, explore the world, try the untried, and see the unseen. Through her love of travel and discovery, she helped him live a life far bigger than he ever imagined.
Erica often described motherhood as a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, laughter, and core memories. Her children find comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to inspire, celebrate, and guide them through life. Erica was a devoted friend whose loyalty knew no bounds. She treated her friends as family, and once you were in her circle, you were there for life.
In 2012, Erica earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kaplan University. She was a self-made professional who truly started from nothing. She believed true success wasn’t measured in titles but in the way she guided and showed up for her team. She valued being a leader that was compassionate, empowering, and supportive. Having navigated the foster care system as a child, Erica dedicated her life to being the safety net she was once needed. Her professional success was always a tool for her personal mission: proving that your beginning does not define your destination.
The impact Erica has made in the countless lives she touched will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her family will spread her ashes in the ocean, where she can be one with the waves and the dolphins she so loved.
