Doretta Rose Clifford, daughter of Walter and Alice Clifford, was born in Artesia, California. She spent most of her childhood in Alhambra, California where she graduated High School. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Woodbury College in 1950. She worked as a Secretary/Stenographer for a private investigator who searched for missing heirs. In 1953, she had been attending classes at East LA Junior College when she met Dean Darrell Kelley in a Psychology class. They married on June 26th, 1954, in Monterey Park, California. She occasionally had other secretarial jobs, but her major career was as a homemaker, mother & grandmother. She enjoyed cats, golfing, travel, genealogy & reading. But mostly she enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Her husband, Dean, preceded her in death in 2012; her brother Robert in 2018 & brother Jay B in 2004. She leaves behind her children, Bruce (Anna) of Battleground WA; Eric of Port Orchard; WA, Jay (Sharon) of El Paso, Texas; and Dana (Edmund) Bressette of Lakebay, WA; 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren. She will be tremendously missed.
