Chris was born in Mt. Shasta City, CA. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Tacoma. He recently moved to Tacoma from Sebastopol, CA where he had lived for the past 10 years. Chris went to school and grew up in Sacramento, CA. He started his career in retail with Fossil, where he made many long-lasting friendships. Chris later went to work for Macy’s, Goodwill Industries and Nordstrom. He also co-owned an ice cream shop (IScream Cafe) in Cotati, CA. Most recently, Chris was employed by Vadis, a nonprofit organization which helps disabled and homeless persons find employment. He loved his job and coworkers; it fit him like a glove.
Chris is survived by his parents, Steve and Laura Beck of Middleton, ID; his brother Brian Beck (Stephanie) and nieces Brooklyn, Abby, Francesca and nephew Santino; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his puppy, Levi.
Chris enjoyed walking, hiking, camping, cooking, gardening and anything Italian. Chris was LOVED by many. His warm demeanor was infectious and his laugh, a comfort to the ear. He never knew a stranger and would always make you a friend. Anyone who truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Chris is now at peace surrounded by the light of God.
Memorial services will be held on April 7, 2022 (11:00am), at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove, CA, and laid to rest in Weed, CA.
Donations may be made in Chris’s memory to Vadis at www.Vadis.org under Employment Support Services or the animal rescue organization of your choice.
