Charles McKee Obituary

Charles (Sandy) Turner McKee, 72, of Seattle, WA, died on March 27, 2021, of natural causes.

   Born on May 14, 1948 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to adopted parents, Charles (Chic) and Helen McKee (Turner) of Princeton, NJ.

   Charles was a 1966 graduate of Princeton High School in New Jersey and attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. After which, he spent four years in the United States Air Force as a language specialist, serving primarily in Turkey. Charles was fluent in Russian. He had many diverse talents and interests, from engineering to photography. The images he captured span decades.

   Charles worked varied jobs throughout his life, drawing on his diverse skills. He was intelligent, meticulous, a critical thinker and thorough. He retired from Volume Services of America in 2003. 

   He spent equal parts of his life residing on the east  and west coasts. He led a quiet and reserved life and found happiness in simplicity. 

   Charles was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Helen, and stepsons, Gregory and William Stone. He was survived by brother Fred McKee, former wife of 11 years, Patricia Durrant (Anderson), children, Christopher and MerryBeth McKee, and stepchildren, Patricia (Trish), Mark, Jennifer, Franklin and Jeffrey Stone.

   Charles’ eternal resting place is in a shared crypt with his loving parents at Ocean County Memorial Park Cemetery in Tom’s River, New Jersey.
