Caroline Mahoney Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Caroline “June” Mahoney on August 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer at her Tacoma home with her husband at her side.  She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.

June was born June 7, 1961, in Chelmsford, England to parents Roy and Margaret.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dale, son Rick (Cari), daughter Christina (Justin) and five grandchildren, Ryan, Keirnan, Landon, Declan and Isla, sister-in-law Tracy (Tim) brother in-law Lee (Forrest) and her niece Penny and nephew Jon (Cassie) all of Washington.

In addition, she is survived by her loving family in the United Kingdom, her father Roy and stepmother Dinah, her sister Nicky (Mark), stepsisters Judith and Jenny (Kevin), her aunt Margaret, nephew’s, nieces and cousins.  Despite being many miles apart, June remained very close to her family in the U.K., and they meant a great deal to her.

After her marriage to Dale in Leicester, England, they moved to Washington state and built a life together in Tacoma.  After working 20+ years as a manager at the Weyerhaeuser Company in the pulp division, June left the workforce to make her family the priority in her life and jumped at the opportunity to be involved with her grandkids.  Nothing made her happier than having them come to stay at “Nana’s house” to be looked after and spoilt.   She always made each visit special, whether at home, joining them on holidays or even just speaking to them on the phone.  They were her world, and she adored each of them.

June devoted her life to her family and was a generous mother, grandmother and friend, always making sure those around her were taken care of and making them happy.  She was notoriously organized and as such, teased about it in a good-natured manner. June always considered the little things that made life that little bit more special for those around her. She was always asking “is everyone happy” at family gatherings and whenever she was organizing events.  She made her home a place filled with laughter, warmth, unwavering love and kindness.

Her passing leaves a void in all our hearts but many fond memories that we will hold dear.  May she rest in peace, and she will forever be a part of us.

At June’s request, no service will be held.
