Bonnie Jean Blair (née Baber), age 66, passed away on April 5, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington from cancer. Born on May 2, 1958, in San Francisco, California, Bonnie lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her community.
Bonnie graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco and went on to earn her degree from San Francisco State University. She held a California CPA license and worked in the Bay Area at RINA Accountancy Corp. After raising her three children, Bonnie brought her knowledge and passion for teaching to Tacoma Community College. There, she taught accounting and worked in the business lab at both the main and Gig Harbor campuses. Her commitment to education left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike.
Bonnie’s greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Michael; her children Kevin, Kaitlyn, and Kellie; her brother Bill; and her cherished granddaughters Lyla, Elora, and Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bette.
Bonnie was a social being and the life of every party. She had a community that she took care of and laughed with, including her Bunco Babes, the Weeks clan, happy hour crew, Wilkening cousins, and many friends turned family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 1001 Princeton St., Fircrest, Washington 98466. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Bonnie’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched—as a devoted wife and mother, a dedicated educator, and a beloved friend. May you be dancing in the moonlight forever.
